A blast from the Marathon past. The General Purpose Field Series has been an integral part of Marathon Watch's history for over 60 years. The first Marathon field watches featuring MaraGlo illumination were produced in 2006.
While the Field Series was initially crafted with the same composite case we see on our current models, the watches have seen some engineering changes over the years. Perhaps most notably, in 2018, Marathon made the major shift from hardened plexi to sapphire crystals ultimately increasing the durability of the watches, providing extremely high-quality materials that have become a standard in the industry.
As fans of the Marathon brand know, there is power in history. Older models of the General Purpose Field Series are still beloved by military personnel and watch enthusiasts alike - including those here at Marathon.
At our Swiss headquarters, our team recently uncovered a number of original watch cases from our 2006 production. As a special gift for our valued customers, we made the decision to bring back a limited run of this piece of Marathon Watch history. We have re-crafted 60 pieces of the 34mm Original Issue General Purpose Quartz Field Watch with MaraGlo (GPQ), featuring the original hardened plexi crystal. This watch is currently available only as a special offer for this campaign, and only for a limited time.
Receive your FREE Original Issue GPQ with MaraGlo with any SAR Dive Watch purchase between February 3rd and February 15th, 2023.
